The sessions are free, informal and practical, delivered by trained facilitators experienced in caring and health and social care. They support carers to adopt a positive, problem-solving approach to issues that are important to them.
Some programmes are generic and are open to all adult carers, with specific programmes targeted at:
- Young Carers
- Carers of people living with a dementia
- Carers of adults with a learning disability
- Parent Carers
- Carers whose first language is not English
- People concerned about the alcohol or drug use of family or friends
The Positive Caring Programme is run by Gloucestershire County Council and NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group and has been delivered in its present form for a number of years.
During this time carers’ needs may have changed. That’s why they are carrying out a consultation with carers asking them what they think of the programme and what support they would like so they can help design and deliver this programme in the future.
So they can create a service that best meets your needs please take the time to complete the short, simple online survey available at www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/positivecaringsurvey
