Air conditioning among upgrades at Cirencester Hospital

January 11, 2022

A series of upgrades have been carried out at Cirencester Hospital through 2021.

Coln and Windrush Wards have had air conditioning installed as part of a series of investments in the hospital which has also included a new fire alarm system and work on the roof.

Donna Nicholas, sister on Windrush Ward, said everyone appreciated the improvement as the temperature had been hard to keep down in hot weather

She said: “Windrush was the hottest! In hot weather it could be unbearable, and it’s been even more noticeable since the pandemic started because of all the PPE we’ve been wearing.

“So it’s amazing to have air conditioning now – it’s definitely much better for patients and makes life so much more comfortable for staff.”

Work is also being done to upgrade the roof of the Quern’s building, the oldest part of the hospital.
