Water Damage at Fairford Hospital

Significant water damage at Fairford Hospital means some clinical appointments will need to be either rearranged or relocated over the next week.

Last night (Thursday 1 August) heavy rainfall coupled with damage to the roof – believed to be caused by vandalism – led to the reception area and some neighbouring rooms becoming water logged. It also caused damage to internal smoke alarms and electrics, which will all now need to be repaired before the building is used again. Teams are working hard to restore the building to make it safe and operational as soon as possible.

Appointments held at the hospital include those for podiatry, physiotherapy, audiology, talking therapies and health visiting (including a baby hub). There is also a lunch club which will affected.

If you have an appointment at the hospital within the next seven days, you may be asked to attend an alternative site or your appointment may be postponed.

Further security measures are being put in place to prevent similar damage being caused again.

We apologise for any disruption.
