Wotton Lawn Hospital – Statement

In response to a BBC story related to a Large Scale Safeguarding Enquiry centred on Wotton Lawn Hospital, in Gloucester, we have released the following statement:

We take standards of care and the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone within our services very seriously.  We are therefore sorry to hear reports of poor experiences and concerns. While we cannot comment in detail on individual circumstances, we are keen to find out more about any particular cases that we have not already investigated.

The current safeguarding enquiry being coordinated by Gloucestershire County Council is related to our own reporting of incidents and investigations into aspects of care at Wotton Lawn Hospital.  We continue to work closely with partners in this process, as part of our commitment to learn from when things go wrong while also recognising the positive experiences that many patients tell us about. We encourage anyone with feedback about our services to get in touch.
