GLOW was launched in 2025 to support overweight children and their families through a compassionate, holistic approach.

We understand that every family’s journey is unique, and we work alongside children and young people to create positive, sustainable changes that fits their life.
Who are we:
We are a multidisciplinary team of dedicated professionals, including:
- specialist nurses,
- dietitians,
- psychologists,
- paediatrician
- administrators
Our Approach
We use a holistic approach meaning we look at the ‘bigger picture’ and consider the child’s physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
Our support covers:
- Nutrition and healthy eating
- Physical health
- Physical activity and movement
- Emotional and mental health
- Lifestyle habits and wellbeing
We treat every child as an individual and tailor our approach to their needs, ensuring every child and family feels safe, understood, and supported.
By collaborating across health, education, and community networks, we ensure families receive coordinated support.
How to access GLOW
Eligible families can access our service through a referral from BeeZee Maximus; Gloucestershire’s healthy lifestyles provider. Referral criteria currently are:
- Aged 4-17 years old
- BMI centile >99.6 or >98 with additional needs
- Live in Gloucestershire

Events
Cafes
We are running bi-monthly cafés where you can pop along for a warm judgement-free space to talk, peer support, a chance to share tips and encouragement and gain informal advice and signposting from members of the GLOW team.

Healthy Habits Course
We offer a fun and practical 6 week course aimed at supporting parents in a number of different areas including food, activity, wellbeing and difficulties associated with education. You can attend all the sessions or pick out the ones most relevant to you.
