Big Health Day welcomes more than 1,500 people

One week on from Big Health Day event, we are delighted to share the attendance figures and reflect on what was another fantastic day for the people and communities of Gloucestershire.

Despite challenging weather conditions and significant adjustments throughout the day, 1,582 people attended the event. This included members of the public, volunteers, community groups, service user support organisations, residential schools, health and care professionals, workshop facilitators, inclusive activity providers, exhibitors and partner organisations from across the county.

The event brought together the usual wide and diverse range of organisations providing opportunities for people to access health checks, learn more about prevention, discover local services and support, take part in sports and inclusive activities, and connect with their communities.

The turnout was particularly encouraging given the early rain and demonstrated the continued value of accessible, community-focused health and wellbeing events.

Big Health Day continues to showcase the strength of partnership working across Gloucestershire. The event would not have been possible without the commitment, collaboration and support of volunteers, partners, exhibitors, workshop facilitators, activity providers and colleagues who worked tirelessly before, during and after the event.

A special thank you goes to everyone involved in the planning, set-up, delivery and pack-down of the event. From managing logistics and adapting to changing weather conditions, to supporting visitors and ensuring activities ran smoothly, every contribution played an important role in making the day a success.

Over the coming weeks, we will be reviewing evaluation forms, surveys and feedback from attendees and partners to better understand the impact of the event and help shape future Big Health Day events.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who attended. The smiles, conversations about health and wellbeing and support available, new connections made during the event, and positive experiences throughout the day reminded us why events like Big Health Day matter so much.
