Welcome to Cirencester Development Update – a summary of the latest news and updates about the programme to redevelop Cirencester Hospital to ensure we are better placed to respond to changing healthcare needs in Cirencester and the surrounding areas.
We are continuing to make good progress on the Cirencester Hospital Renewal Programme, which seeks to provide modern, sustainable, fit for purpose facilities that meet the needs of patients, colleagues and the community, now and into the future.
Recently the team has focused on developing initial design proposals, working closely with clinical colleagues and partners. This information will be used to support the District Council Planning application submission. The Programme Team have also engaged with Cirencester Town Council and worked closely with Cotswold District Council through a series of pre-applications.
We took the opportunity to speak to members of the public and colleagues at the Cirencester Hospital Summer Fete earlier this month to find out more about what matters most to them about the hospital and the services we provide. They shared what they liked about the current services and what they felt may be improved and this invaluable feedback will help steer our development wherever possible.
We joined Cotswold Community Network and Cotswold Know Your Patch meetings last week to inform and gather views to shape the programme further. Over the coming weeks we will be looking to develop more opportunities for community engagement, and later this month we are holding a drop-in session at The Long Table, Cirencester on 29 September between 5-7pm, and again on 8 October between 10-12pm. Please see attached a poster to help promote these dates.
If you are unable to join us at those events, but would like to share ideas or comment on the development, we’d love to hear from you. E-mail: ghc.cirenhospextrenew@nhs.net
In the meantime, as the project progresses, we will be sharing all the latest news and developments on our website: www.ghc.nhs.uk/cirencester-renew
