New Associate Non-Executive Director for Trust

A new Associate Non-Executive Director has been appointed to the Trust board.

Tracey Thomas brings over twenty years’ experience working within and alongside the NHS across patient experience, community engagement, programme leadership, digital transformation and organisational development.

She is Chair and Director of Gloucester Community Building and alongside this Associate Co-Director for collaborative leadership and neighbourhood alliances at Create Gloucestershire – working across organisational boundaries to tackle inequalities.

Her commitment to equity and inclusion has also extended beyond Gloucestershire as a founding member of the Shuri Network Steering Group, helping establish what has become a nationally recognised network supporting women from minority ethnic backgrounds working across health and care. More recently, as an art psychotherapy student, Tracey has joined the Student Advisory Group for the NHS Race and Health Observatory, contributing to discussions about health inequalities, anti-racism and the role of lived experience in shaping more equitable healthcare.

Tracey said: “What attracted me most to this opportunity was the Trust’s recognition that it needs deeper insight into the experiences of the diverse communities it serves. Throughout my career, I have been motivated by a desire to understand the gap between what organisations believe people need and what people actually experience. Whether working in NHS leadership, community development, equality and inclusion, restorative practice or creative health, I have consistently sought to help communities influence the decisions that affect their lives.”
