Macmillan Next Steps celebrates a decade of care

MMacmillan Next Steps Gloucestershire 10 year anniversaryacmillan Next Steps marked its 10th anniversary on 11 June with a special celebration lunch at Churchdown Community Centre.

Hosted by the Macmillan Next Steps team, the event brought together colleagues, volunteers and guests to reflect on a decade of supporting people affected by cancer.

Attendees watched a series of films showcasing personal stories and experiences from the past 10 years.

Trust Chair Graham Russell highlighted the impact of the service, recognising the vital support it has provided to thousands of people across the community.

Following a delicious buffet, guests took part in a lively Macmillan-themed quiz, led by Senior Health Trainer Felice and volunteer Health Trainer Chris.

In true Next Steps spirit, losing teams were tasked with performing exercises used in Macmillan workshops – bringing plenty of energy and laughter to the celebration.

About Macmillan Next Steps

Macmillan Next Steps is an NHS specialist cancer rehabilitation service supporting people across Gloucestershire who have been diagnosed with cancers including breast, prostate, lung, head and neck, colorectal, gynaecological, haematological and upper gastrointestinal.

The service offers a range of support, including courses and tailored programmes designed to help individuals manage their health and wellbeing during and after treatment.

Referrals are open to anyone aged 18 or over who lives in Gloucestershire or is registered with a Gloucestershire GP practice.
