Peak View Ward Pedalathon powers Stroke Unit fundraising

Patients and colleagues on Peak View Ward at The Vale Community Hospital in Dursley, have begun a marathon‑style fundraising challenge.

They are raising money for the ward and Stroke Unit through the Vale Community Hospital League of Friends by cycling the equivalent distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

Patients, staff and supporters are taking part on static bikes or their own bicycles, with every mile recorded and added to a shared total. The challenge aims to raise £1,000 to fund new equipment for the ward, including a specialist chair and a MOTOmed static bike to support patient recovery.

In this short video, Rachel Mills, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist, and Stuart, a patient on Peak View Ward, share their experiences of the Pedalathon challenge.

They discuss how the initiative is supporting the ward, highlighting the positive impact it is having on patients and the wider unit.
