Administrative Professionals Day: Jovelyn Masters

Jovelyn Masters, Personal Assistant to Associate Director of Patient Safety and Learning, joined GHC just over a year ago as a Quality Assurance Business Administrator.

In this role, Jovelyn worked in the Quality Assurance team, working to support the Head of Quality Assurance, the Clinical Pathway Leads, and the wider QA team. Talking about her first role within the Trust, Jovelyn said: ‘I loved this role as it was a great opportunity to see what goes on in the background that clinical staff may not be aware of – I have worked in clinical roles so it was exciting to be part of this work.’

In January of this year, Jovelyn’s role changed to PA to Associate Director of Patient Safety and Learning. Jovelyn has found this change of role fascinating as it has provided opportunities to work on a variety of interesting projects including serious incident investigations, learning assurance following serious incidents, and Trustwide risk management.

Discussing what she enjoys about working in administration, Jovelyn said: ‘Working in administration allows me to use my own initiative and manage my workload, provide support with work that is interesting to learn about and work with many different members of staff outside of my team.’
