New GHC Non-Executive Director, Vicci Livingstone-Thompson
We are pleased to announce Vicci Livingstone-Thompson has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Trust Board.
Following a competitive recruitment process Vicci, already serving as an Associate Non-Executive Director with Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, and CEO of Inclusion Gloucestershire, takes up her NED role today (Thursday 1 May).
Trust Chair Graham Russell said: “Vicci is a positive addition to the Board. She brings a great track record in the voluntary sector, as well as extensive networks within communities. Vicci is a passionate champion for people who are disadvantaged, and she will add greatly to our work on inclusion, diversity and equity.”
As well as being CEO of Inclusive Gloucestershire – a user-led organisation working to further inclusion and champion the voice of people facing disabling barriers – Vicci’s career background is in senior leadership within the charity disability sector in Gloucestershire. She is passionate about empowering people to play the leading role in managing their health and wellbeing and advocating for community-based preventative care and support.
Vicci, who was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to mental health and people with disabilities in Gloucestershire in the King’s 2024 New Year Honours List, was also named one of the 100 most influential disabled people in the UK on the Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 list in 2022. She is also a trustee of the National Disabled People’s Organisation, Disability Rights UK, and local charity Active Impact, which champions inclusion for disabled children and young people.
About her appointment Vicci said: “It has been a pleasure to work alongside the Trust Board, colleagues, partners and communities over the last two years, and I am delighted to be taking on the Non-Executive Director role.
“As a lifelong Gloucestershire resident and disabled person, I am committed to supporting the Trust as we coproduce with Gloucestershire communities, work in partnership with the voluntary and community sector and address health inequalities and inequity.”
