Stroud Hospitals League of Friends hosted its annual Summer Ice Cream Event last Thursday (1 August), as a thank you to staff and volunteers for all they do.

Dave’s Delicious Soft Ice Cream van paid visits to Stroud General, Stroud Maternity Hospital, Weavers Croft and Park House, delivering free ice creams to staff and volunteers, courtesy of the Stroud Hospitals League of Friends – a registered charity whose aim is to support the two hospitals and the health and welfare of the local community.

Dawn Williams, Management Team Secretary at Stroud General Hospital, said: “It was such a wonderful afternoon. The weather was perfect, the ice creams were delicious, and they were much appreciated by all our staff and volunteers.

“This event is the highlight of the year. It creates a real buzz and our staff and volunteers talk about it for weeks after.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to the League of Friends for their continued generosity and Dave’s Delicious Soft Ice Cream for bringing a smile to so many faces.”
