Nominations are now open to join our Council of Governors.

We are looking for seven new public Governors to join our Trust.

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust provides joined up community physical health, mental health and learning disability services for the whole of Gloucestershire. We are passionate about redressing inequalities and co-producing what we do with the people we serve.

Governors play an important role in our Trust as members of the Council of Governors. They seek and reflect the views of the Trust’s members, promote and support the Trust’s strategy, hold the Board’s Non-Executive Directors to account, and help the Trust to decide its future direction.

Being a Governor means that you will hear first hand about new developments in the Trust and will have the opportunity to ask questions on behalf of your constituents on the key issues affecting you.  This is your opportunity to get involved and make the voice of your community count.

If you believe you can offer all of the above, then we would love to hear from you. Details of the positions and the application process are outlined below.

Where are the vacancies?

Our Council needs the following public governors:

  • Cheltenham – 2 vacancies
  • Cotswolds – 1 vacancy
  • Forest of Dean – 2 vacancies
  • Gloucester – 1 vacancy
  • Greater England & Wales – 1 vacancy

The Council is made up of 25 Governors – 13 public governors, 10 staff governors, and two representatives from partner agencies. It meets up to six times per year and is chaired by our Trust Chair, Ingrid Barker. Governors serve three years in their role and work alongside the Trust’s Board.
