An exhibition is to be held later this month to showcase the art work of service users and staff from ²gether NHS Foundation Trust.

The event will take place on Thursday June 27, at St Mary Congregational Church, at the junction of Pitt Street, St Mary’s Street and Archdeacon Street, in Gloucester City Centre.

Artwork including ceramics, glass, woodwork, paintings and photography will be on display, and the organiser, Lisa Bubb, said there would be something for everyone to see.

“The artwork we will be showing has been produced by service users and staff from a variety of our services all over Gloucestershire and Herefordshire,” Lisa, an Activity Coordinator with ²gether, explained.

“There are a variety of art groups running Trustwide, as art and art therapy are very useful ways of expressing feelings and of helping to improve emotional and mental wellbeing.

“Our service users and staff also create artwork in their own time as a hobby, so we have some very talented people among our service users and staff, and this exhibition gives them a great opportunity to have their work seen by a wider audience.

“People coming to view the exhibition will also get a good feeling for the work we carry out within the Trust and an insight into how art can be used to benefit those with mental health problems.”

The exhibition runs from 9am until 3.30pm and entrance is free.
