Wotton Lawn Hospital in Gloucester is inviting all previous and current patients and carers to a classical Garden Party this Saturday (15 September).

The free, fun filled and informative afternoon is being hosted by ²gether NHS Foundation Trust (²gether). It takes place between 3pm to 6pm in the hospital’s Courtyard Garden on Horton Road, Gloucester.

Talented musicians including a harpist, violinists, a shimmering flute player and jazz band will entertain guests on the hospital’s outdoor stage.

The event also includes a barbeque and traditional games including tombola with prizes generously donated by local Gloucestershire businesses.

Gary Dodson, Manager of Wotton Lawn Hospital’s Priory Ward, said: “Carers provide invaluable help and support – they really are the unsung heroes of our society. Our garden party is one more way we can help recognise and celebrate their vital role in a patient’s recovery as well as offer them further support, health and wellbeing advice.”

An estimated six million people in the UK, including around 60,000 in Gloucestershire, provide unpaid care to someone they know. Trust staff and other agencies including Gloucestershire Young Carers, Carers Gloucestershire, Rethink and Guide & PALs will be on hand to provide information and support.

Gary continued: “We are really looking forward to welcoming back old friends as well as carers of patients we are supporting right now.”

If you would like to attend the free event or for more information, please contact Gary Dodson at gary.dodson@glos.nhs.uk or speak to a member of the ward team by calling 01452 894535.
