Apprentice Lauryn Hill is celebrating the news that she has been named as a finalist in the Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Public Services) category in this year’s GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards.
Lauryn is an apprentice Administration Assistant with our Complex Care at Home Team.
Speaking about her role supporting the matrons, therapists, wellbeing co-ordinators and social care staff, Lauryn said: “I applied for this apprenticeship not knowing what I wanted to do as a future career. I have worked in many previous jobs, never finding the one I felt most happy in.
“Since joining the Complex Care at Home Team I have learned so many incredible things and met some amazing people.”
Lauryn was nominated for the award by her fellow team members, who wrote in her application: “Lauryn has triumphed with a disability that she has had, challenging her studies and work, and she has fought through with a determination that commends her.”
“The team I work with are the best,” continued Lauryn. “I feel so supported in my role and am thoroughly enjoying my responsibilities. I feel I have grown so much as a person during my time with Complex Care at Home. I have learned many life lessons, a lot about myself and how capable I am if I put my mind to it.
“I cannot thank my team enough for giving me opportunities that help me grow in my role and for simply being the amazing people they all are.”
The winners of this year’s GloucestershireLive Apprenticeship Awards will be announced at a ceremony at Kingsholm Stadium on Tuesday 24 March 2020.
