What is PEAT?
The annual programme of Patient Environment Action Team (PEAT) inspections focus on the non-clinical aspects of care quality. The results for 2011/12 are detailed below and evidence that our sites have all maintained or improved the score they achieved in 2010.
Moreton District Hospital was not inspected as the PEAT visits took place just prior to the move to the new North Cotswold Hospital. This site will be part of the programme of visits for the coming year. The PEAT team membership included a member of the infection prevention and control team, and the results clearly demonstrate ongoing focus on quality standards.
The assessment results are used to help highlight areas for improvement and share best practice across healthcare organisations in England.
Patients, patient representatives and members of the public are also part of this assessment process.

Please note, this is the last publication of PEAT results in their current form, following a government announcement that a new patient-led inspection programme (PLACE) has been developed which will be launched in Spring 2013. Further information from http://www.ic.nhs.uk
