A fundraising event is being held in aid of the Philippines Typhoon Appeal at a Cheltenham eating disorders treatment centre.

The event will be held at the Brownhills Centre, in Swindon Road, Cheltenham, on Friday December 13.

Starting at 2pm and ending at 4pm, the event will include a bring and buy sale, coffee and cakes, a Christmas card sale and a raffle, featuring prizes such as theatre tickets, art work, beauty vouchers and more.

Charlitta Strinati, a clinician at the centre, said: “The event has been organised by our service users, as they feel strongly about doing something to raise money for the people affected following Typhoon Haiyan.

“The funds from this event will go directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal, set up to provide, among other things, shelter, clean drinking water and food.

“Everyone is welcome to attend the event and we would also very much welcome further prizes for our raffle. We are looking forward to a fun, but very worthwhile, event.”

If anyone is able to donate a raffle prize, they should contact Charlitta via charlitta.strinati@gmail.com, or by phone on 01242 634242.
