The Caring Hero (Under 18) category looks to celebrate children and young people who often put the needs of others before themselves, with an increasing number of children as young as primary school age now being registered as carers for a loved one in Gloucestershire.

Michael Richardson, deputy countywide manager for children and young people’s services, was a member of the judging panel who shortlisted this year’s nominees: “It has been a real privilege to hear the stories of the young people who were nominated for this category, and these awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the dedication and energy of some remarkable people who go out of their way help others.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 12 June which is taking place at Hatherley Manor Hotel.  Tickets for the event can be booked by visiting the Award’s website
