Stroud MIIU to close for three days in preparation for return to hospital

July 26, 2022

Stroud Minor Injuries and Illness Unit (MIIU) will close for three days starting on Tuesday 2 August as it moves from its temporary base back to its refurbished home in the main hospital building.

The MIIU has been offering booked appointments from Stroud Community Clinic in the grounds of the nearby Maternity Hospital since the start of a major £2m refurbishment of the hospital.

Both Jubilee Ward and the Minor Injuries and Illness Unit (MIIU) were vacated in August last year to allow for a complete redesign of both spaces and installation of new air handling and temperature control systems throughout.

MIIU colleagues will close the unit for three days to move into their refurbished unit and conduct training and familiarisation between Tuesday 2 August and Thursday 4 August.

During this time anyone requiring an MIIU service should visit units at Cirencester Hospital or Vale Hospital in Dursley.

The most convenient way to access a Minor Injuries and Illness Unit is to call 0300 421 7777 and arrange a visit. It only takes a couple of minutes and gives you an agreed appointment time, which minimises the time you spend waiting.

The MIIU will reopen at Stroud Hospital on Friday 5 August but please continue to book an appointment on the same number if you need to attend.
