Now all of the participants will be sponsored by a member of the management team to ensure they have the support to put their ideas into practice.

Duncan Jordan, chief operating officer who attended the event, said: “I am very impressed with the dedication and ingenuity shown by this group in coming up with practical and cost-effective ideas which will improve services.

“These projects will be promoted to the Trust’s board and there is an open door for anyone who needs support to see their project through to completion. Congratulations to everyone involved.”

The showcase event, held at Dowty Sports and Social Club in Gloucester, was also attended by Chair Ingrid Barker, directors Liz Fenton and Candace Plouffe, non-executive director Chris Creswick and Marion Andrews-Evans, quality lead from NHS Gloucestershire Clinical Commissioning Group.

The Leading for Quality Care Programme, which is run in conjunction with the Royal College of Nursing, is open to all Band 7 and 8a staff across the Trust.

Two further groups are already underway and a fourth is due to start on Thursday 22 May. Further courses will run in September and October.
